This stainless steel chrome plated tonfa baton is coil fired via a large spring on the inside that shoots into the open position when you press down on the fire switch. There's also a safety slider on the fire switch that keeps it from firing off accidentally - and that's a good thing because these are very powerful certainly enough to break a nose or put out an eye - we tested these on bottles and they shatter every time on the ejection impact force! Of course this is also a solid steel defense baton with plenty of striking power in the opened position with a nice handguard/sword break at the hilt. This is not a casual carry item and is sold for the intended purpose for self defense demonstrations performed by skilled martial artists only or employed by licensed trained security personnel. This item should absolutely never be handled by anyone irresponsible or not understanding of the energy produced by the spring inside.
